Pumpkin-Corn-Maze-Patch!

One day could never be enough! We visited Oakes Farms two days in a row just to demonstrate our commitment to the season! Day one was the annual family pumpkin selection (never mind the fact that you can buy the damn things for $5 at any local grocer). On day two we hosted the Rite 13 youth group from our church (http://www.discoveret.org/stf/) to the corn maze.

House update: Decks are built

The crew began building the decks on the back of the house over the weekend. Here are a few pics...

The roofed section on the back of the house is a screen porch. On each side of it are decks - one off the kitchen (pictured here) and one off the master bedroom.

House Update - Windows are going in!

I have lost track of which week we're in as there hasn't been much to report over the past several weeks. As for the interior, the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC are all installed. This week the security/data guys will install the security, data, video, and audio. After that we will be ready for insulation and then sheetrock.

On Saturday the windows arrived and the workers installed nearly all of them. Below are a few pics of the progress. Windows make a HUGE difference!

Right side of house.

Rear of house.

This is the great room. The window company got the upper center window wrong so we will be delayed a couple of weeks while the make the correct window. (Building a house is SOOO fulfilling!)

Master bath. This is one of Laura's "special windows" with the curve that she is very excited about.

The basement - aka, future "man land".
